current version of Cod4x

Recommended Posts

I just compiled cod4x and updated the servers and noticed that it now shows build 0 in the cod4x master servers list is this correct?

The servers run fine I am just curious about the build number.

(there are a few other servers showing build 0 also)

Make a directory, go in, type git init, then git pull instead of git clone.

Then compile the server as usual.

Install git and rebuild server.

Git was already installed

git is already the newest version (1:2.17.1-1ubuntu0.4).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

I then downloaded the newest version from https://github.com/callofduty4x/cod4x_server

compiled it and still it shows build 0  - Cod4 x - linux-i386 build 0 Nov 2 2019

I also noticed there are 22 build 0 servers on the master server page including my two servers - and my servers run without a problem

I am still curious why they show build 0 but not worried about it.

I am using Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS 64bit  and Neho's Cod4xwebadmin from https://github.com/byNeHo/CoD4x-WebAdmin

to run the servers

I noticed that when I use the compiled version stating build 0  I get a message stating there is an important update at cod4x.me

lucky I saved my old cod4x18_dedrun file with build 993 an was able to replace that on the server which prevents the message from showing

I think there is a problem with the download  at https://github.com/callofduty4x/cod4x_server  which is making it show build 0

So you just pushed "Download zip". The archive is just files and not git repository. If you want to get proper build number, you have to clone repository and then build server. By cloning repo you will get .git directory too which is used by git command line tool to get count of revisions (yea, this is a build number).
