Fast Download HTTP redirect fail?

Recommended Posts

  1. I want to use a fast download server for my custom maps.
  2. I created http://ginasmailbox.xyz and pointed it to a directory on my drive with the the same structure as in the fast server docs.
  3. I added to my server.cfg

    set sv_allowdownload "1"
    seta sv_wwwDownload "1"
    set sv_wwwBaseUrl "http://ginasmailbox.xyz"
    seta sv_wwwDlDisconnected "0"

  4. cod4x client is still downloading files at 15kb/s.

it's sv_wwwBaseURL not sc_wwwBaseURL

😓baka. So careless.

The client now connects to the url but seems to be unable to download from there so it goes back to the default server. I think theres something wrong with my http server setup but have no idea what it might be

Solved I think.. I had to configure my url to serve all file types. I havent used iis before so , yeah . I like the software though. This is the guide I used to get where I'm at.

This reminds me of a bug with mime types I had at a job once... so yeah I guess it is possible. IIS is good for what it does though I suppose :P

I've only ever done some for-fun projects in unix apache/nginx. Looks like iis is more of a complex suite type of thing
