Cod4 Server linux help

Hello people. I'm about to open a cod 4 server for Linux, it's my first time and I do not understand much, so I searched and found this video 

 I wanted to know if this video can help me? and if it is the same with version 1.8 .another query more ... can I upload the game via ftp?

No, it's my first time, what I need is to load the main and zone files by ftp, but when I want to enter by ftp it does not leave me, I'm using Ubutun 18.10 from Google Cloud.

What do you mean by "it doesnt leave me" (I am assuming you mean let me)
Errors would be nice.

when I want to login to filezilla he says: disconnect: No supported authenticacion methods available (server sent: publickey) . 

 

Another problem I have is that it does not allow me to add a user with the command "adduser callofduty" as shown in the video

learn how to use linux before hosting your own server. 

(server sent: publickey) indicates that a public key is expected for authentication. if you dont know what that is read up on ssh keys. 

this forum is for questions regarding the cod4x server, not linux tutorials. i'll move this to offtopic.

What are you using VPS Server or Dedicated Server?

Which linux do you have on your VPS/Dedicated Server?

How many storage do you have on HDD/SSD?

How many RAM do you have on your VPS/Dedicated Server?

Do you have open all ports or you need to open them?

Do you even know how to connect on ssh?

Do you even know how to create a ssh private/public key?

If you are new on linux ,connect on this website and learn something.
