[HOW-TO] Install CoD4X

Well the script does seem to think it's 2 different things so if you can, yes please change the username to be without a space. That would be preferred at all times anyway, since it'll give trouble with more stuff.

Or only with that script. I don't understand much from Windows shell...

I do not understand it really either. On *nix you would just add quotes (") around the path and it would work fine, not sure if that works on Windows as well.

Any updates for Mac OS ?

An installation guide for macOS you mean? A native version will not come, not anytime soon anyway. Installation in Wine is possible, but the Steam dependency makes it a bit of a hassle.
It can still be done though, maybe I'll just make a guide this week.

Actually, it is:

Do you see the Apple logo?

I created a quick guide for now. I'm a Linux user myself so it's mostly focused on Linux right now, and using the Steam version. It should however be straight forward to adapt this to macOS (it's mostly just changing the directories really). I'll look into getting hold of a Mac temporarily to adapt the guide to macOS as well (why can't I just install it easily in a VM Apple?!).
Note that you can not use the Apple store version, as you will need the Windows files. The Apple store doesn't provide these, so you'll either have to buy it from Steam (which can then also be played on macOS, but without CoD4X), or get the disc version for Windows.

Ohh maybe the time which I was trying to purchase it for Mac was not available at seam which really annoyed me because the Steam support is really good but Mac App Store is kind of different (since it is for all kind of stuffs like apps game and so on but steam is focused on Games only).

And sorry I can not understand this part : "(which can then also be played on macOS, but without CoD4X)"

You mean I would be able to play in servers which are using COD4i mod using the Steam version ?

Thank you

No I mean you can use the macOS version from Steam, with which you can play regular Cod4. But you can not use Cod4X (and not join servers that run it), as it's not compatible with macOS.

So you'll have to use the Windows version in Wine if you want to run Cod4X.

thank you for the reply,

So at the moment there is no way for a MacPowered machine to use COD4 with Cod4x ...

Unfortunately Wine is not really reliable and I have not had a good experience with it.

I hope you would make this mode compatible with Mac as well....

Thank you again
